Denmark’s largest welcome event, International Citizen Days, is returning to Copenhagen on 19 & 20 September 2025. This time with an even greater focus on Greater Copenhagen, highlighting regional synergies and uniting the strengths and resources of the entire region as part of the Cross-border Talent Bridge project.

Two countries, one region, endless opportunities. Whether you have landed in Greater Copenhagen to work, study or to start a new life, you are not choosing between two countries – you are gaining access to both. And that’s exactly what International House Copenhagen is planning on demonstrating at their annual welcome event International Citizen Days 2025.

“We are currently in the process of planning the programme for International Citizen Days and though not all is set in stone, I can reveal that we are going to have a fun, engaging and informative zone dedicated to Greater Copenhagen, inviting all international Swedes and Copenhageners to explore the endless opportunities the region has to offer” says co-project manager Helene Ilkjær from the City of Copenhagen and International House.

“There are currently a bunch of great ideas in the air. There will be insightful talks on Danish and Swedish (workplace) culture, Nordic leadership and other relevant topics focusing on the region’s practical and cultural cohesion. There will be ‘hygge’ and ‘fika’, quizzes, creative workshops and who knows… maybe even a bridge? It’s an exciting collaboration and we want all internationals in the region to thrive no matter which side of the bridge they are on” Ilkjær continues, inviting all project partners to join the event in September.

Two administrations from the City of Copenhagen – the Culture and Leisure Administration and the Employment and Integration Administration – take part in the he Cross-border Talent Bridge project, contributing with a broad range of welcome events, including International Citizen Days, in addition to mentor and career programmes designed to support international students, professionals and their families in settling successfully in Greater Copenhagen.
